WORSHIP MINISTRIES
Acolytes carry the cross and candles in the Processional, the Gospel Reading, the Offertory, and the Recessional. They also have duties during the Holy Eucharist and other parts of the service. We encourage our youth who are in Fifth Grade and up to consider becoming an Acolyte.
Altar Guild – The Trinity Church Altar Guild is a ministry that supports the clergy in all forms of worship in the church by preparing the altar, communion vessels and clerical vestments in accordance with the Episcopal Church liturgical calendar. We care for the candles, altar linens and hangings, vestments and vessels so that they are clean, appropriate and available for all services including baptisms, weddings, funerals and memorial services in addition to the special day services such as Maundy Thursday and Easter Vigil.
Chalice Bearers assist the clergy in administering the sacrament of Holy Eucharist, and may also be asked to read a scripture lesson in worship.
Earth Care Ministry seeks to deepen our spiritual and physical relationship with all of creation and participate in the proper stewardship of the earth’s resources. As individuals and as a community, we will seek ways to: incorporate care for the environment in our spiritual lives, learn and adopt practical ways to reduce our climate impact, and serve as a focal point for participating in environmental advocacy and the repair of creation.
Eucharistic Ministers are lay persons who are authorized to take the Consecrated Elements in a timely manner following a Celebration of the Holy Eucharist to members of the congregation who by reason of illness or infirmity are unable to be present at the Celebration.
Events Committee– Trinity Event Committee is an oversight group to helps plan and provide guidance for events (social, fundraising, and outreach) at Trinity and into the community. The group manages the annual event calendar to ensure there are no conflicts and will also support communication of the events throughout the congregation/community. The group actively promotes volunteerism and maintains a database of volunteers that can be called upon to help support events when needed.
Flower Guild – The Flower Guild creates floral designs for Sunday services. The members are on a rotating schedule and there are seven leaders who have the responsibility of planning the design and purchasing materials. The leaders work with the other members on Saturday mornings, and together create the altar arrangements. The flowers are then delivered to shut-ins or hospitalized parishioners by the clergy.
Garden Angels- Our beautiful Cloister Garden and the surrounding gardens of the church are cared for by a group of volunteers. The Garden Angels gather each month to spruce up our gardens.
Lay readers read scripture and lead prayers during the worship service. This is an important ministry that requires commitment and time for practicing the readings prior to the scripture being read on Sunday.
Ushers are usually the first official representatives of the church that people meet when they arrive. Ushers assist in the smooth running of the service, helping people find seats, navigate communion, and feel welcome. The ushers’ attitude, words, demeanor, and body language all speak a message to God’s worshiper.
Tech Guild manage the video camera and help with the sound system for the livestream, using a simple laptop or tablet interface. A sense of the flow of the worship service and comfort with technology is all that is required.
FELLOWSHIP Ministires
Coffee Hour Teams prepare coffee and set out treats to help us enjoy our time of conversation and community with one another after both Sunday services, and then clean up afterwards (click here for a list of specific tasks). We suggest 2-5 people per team and teams will be rotated every month or two. Teams are free to split the coffee hour tasks up among the team, many hands make light work!
Welcome Committee welcomes new and regular members of the congregation in worship, especially helping visitors and new members meet others, find their way to fellowship, worship, and education, and connect with the Trinity community.
EDUCATION Ministries
Our Sunday School and Youth volunteers learn new things about our faith, have fun, and help others grow while they guide our young people in learning about God. Youth and children’s leaders are screened and provided with abuse prevention training.
